INTERGEO 2018: New Industrial Mapping Solution
Airobot teams up with Acecore to build an industrial flying robot for mapping applications
At Intergeo in Frankfurt, Airobot will show the “Z-Mapper”, an end-to-end mapping solution for industrial applications. The Z-Mapper is based on the Acecore Zoe – a professional all-weather-drone – and features a Sony UMC-R10C 20.1MP camera and Septentrio AsteRx-m2 RTK GNSS receiver to collect accurately georeferenced, high quality mapping data.
The Z-Mapper has an integrated PPK/RTK GNSS receiver which ensures collection of accurately georeferenced mapping data. It can track all satellites in view from GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO and BEIDOU. It also offers advanced interference and jammer mitigation technology as well as state-of-the-art ionosphere estimation algorithms.
The Z-Mapper integrates the Sony UMC-R10C 20.1MP camera, used throughout the industry. This camera is ideal for collecting high quality images to create maps or 3D models, also in low-light conditions, thanks to the large APS-C image sensor.
An easy-to-use interface is available on any mobile device, without having to install special applications and the encrypted digital data link offers a robust and reliable connection to the drone, even at larger distances.
“We wanted to build a professional, end-to-end, drone mapping solution” comments Jan Leyssens, Managing Director of Airobot. “Drones are a great tool for survey and monitoring applications, but many solutions today are based on a combination of separate components and are not always easy to use. Additionally, these solutions should be more robust to be used reliably on construction sites, in quarries and other harsh environments.”
“Teaming up with Airobot allows us to create a robust and completely integrated mapping solution” says Jorrit Linders, President of Acecore, “Together, we aspire to take drone mapping literally to a new level.”

Airobot provides actionable data to industry using flying robots and artificial intelligence. We add state-of-the-art collision avoidance, navigation and positioning technology to turn drones into flying robots for fast, safe and consistent data collection. We extract the useful information and provide it to a user in an end-to-end software solution.
Airobot also assists and supports companies to successfully integrate drones into their operations. We analyse their needs, define the best solution, select the most suitable hardware, combine it with our technology and coach the team during the implementation.
Acecore technologies is integrator, developer and manufacturer of high-end tailor-made drone and camera technology for professional use.
The company was founded to raise the bar in terms of performance and looks in the UAV world. Starting out as end users in drone cinematography their selves, they felt that there was no platform available that met their standards. So, they built their own.
